The Salvation Army Masiye Camp is a Christian development organization whose mission is to facilitate and provide, through partnerships, quality psychosocial support to orphans and vulnerable children and youth in sub-Saharan Africa. Masiye Camp operates under the Salvation Army Development Services Department, which is registered as a welfare organization. The Chitungwiza Orphans and Vulnerable Children Project was originally conceived of by two pastors at the Chitungwiza Unit K Baptist Church, just outside Harare. Out of a very humble structure, Pastor Jena and the late Pastor Chinamatira were moved to offer support and practical assistance to the many children in their community, who were in one way or the other, victims of HIV/AIDS.
